How To Reading Night

The Christmas Pajama Party - Celebrating Reading Comprehension

by Mashyell Calderon

December 16, 2009

The “How to Reading Night -Christmas in Pajamas Party” was successful. Over 200 people were in attendance. Everyone who came and dressed up in their pajamas looked real "comfy" in their PJs, and you look so much smarter today after such a fun Reading Party! We celebrated the importance of reading comprehension. Mrs. Michelle Jones, 2nd Grade Teacher and Mrs. G. Hernandez, Bilingual Teacher presented a reading comprehension lesson. Miss Calderon, our Vice Principal was the guest reader. She read Twas the Night Before Christmas as students sat and listened to the read aloud on the cafetorium stage. Reading activities like these positively impact reading TAKS scores. Thank you to all the parents and teachers who attended. The hot chocolate and cookies were delicious! Thank you Mrs. Villarreal!!! We had FUN!
